Review Platfroms Suck!

Review platforms are plagued with issues in just one year:

  • TrustPilot removed 2.7 million fake reviews.

  • Google removed 95 million reviews.

  • TripAdvisor identified 936,000 fake reviews.

  • Amazon blocked 200 million fake reviews.

And it doesn't stop with these companies; platforms like Yelp and many others face similar problems. The reason is simple: they don't have a foolproof solution to block these attackers. Methods like checking a box to verify a review or requiring a receipt photo are easily bypassed and manipulated, leading to high numbers of fake reviews.

That checkbox is what TripAdvisor uses to ensure there are no fake reviews

Key Issues with Current Review Platforms:

  1. Inaccurate Reviews: Many platforms are inundated with fake reviews, often written by business owners or paid individuals, making it hard for users to get an accurate picture of the service.

  2. Bias: Some platforms are biased towards certain businesses due to advertising relationships or other factors, preventing users from getting an impartial assessment.

  3. Lack of Trust: The prevalence of fake and biased reviews erodes user trust, leading to frustration and disillusionment with the review process.

  4. Outdated Information: Businesses and their services can change quickly, but traditional review platforms may not update information in a timely manner, leading to outdated and misleading reviews.

  5. Lack of Incentive: Users often have no compelling reason to leave detailed, accurate reviews, resulting in a scarcity of information and a limited pool of reliable reviews.
